Serpil Hall is a Strategic Advisor in Fraud & Financial Crime at Datos Insights, where she supports global financial institutions, payments providers, and technology firms with research driven insights and strategic guidance. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Serpil is a recognised expert in fraud operations, financial crime strategy, and technology enabled prevention. Her experience spans global banking, card schemes, airlines, and merchant environments, giving her a broad perspective on how fraud evolves across complex ecosystems.
Before joining Datos Insights, Serpil served as Director of Enterprise Security at GSMA Foundry, where she led cross industry initiatives to assess cybersecurity and security risks across Fintech, Manufacturing, and Smart Mobility sectors. In this role, she developed targeted security solutions for emerging industry use cases and oversaw innovation workstreams focused on scam prevention and ecosystem wide threat mitigation.
Earlier in her career, Serpil held senior positions at EY, BAE Systems, FICO, Visa Europe, and American Express, advising on fraud prevention systems, internal controls, and large scale transformation programmes. She has also contributed to industry shaping government and regulatory programmes, including the Payments Strategy Forum, PSD2, and the Senior Manager Regime (SMR), helping to influence policy, standards, and best practice across the sector.
Serpil holds an MSc in Security and Risk Management from the University of Leicester. She is an active contributor to industry thought leadership, regularly writing on behavioural biometrics, scam evolution, and financial crime innovation for publications such as The Guardian, Biometric Update, The FinTech Times, and Payments Journal.
She is committed to staying ahead of the rapidly evolving fraud and scam landscape, applying deep domain expertise to help organisations protect their customers and safeguard their reputation. Her leadership in the field has earned her recognition as one of the Top 25 Cybersecurity Executives for 2024 and Cybersecurity Woman of the Year 2022 by the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards.
