Deshea Spurgeon is a transformative leader with a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University and an extensive background in fraud risk management. Currently serving as the VP of Enterprise Fraud Governance at BECU, Deshea has aided in developing and managing a comprehensive 2nd Line of Defense team focusing on Quality Assurance, Fraud Risk Oversight, and Fraud Modeling and Analytics.

Prior to BECU Deshea was the Head of Fraud Prevention and Detection at B2B Fintech AvidXchange where he established the organizations first Fraud Operations and Fraud Analytics programs. Other notable career highlights include leading significant improvements in Wells Fargo’s Politically Exposes Persons and OFAC Sanctions program, and building out Time Warner Cable’s Fraud Analytics team.
