Steven Gutierrez’ career has spanned nearly three decades between federal law enforcement and military service. He is a demonstrated leader with a record of accomplishment and expertise in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise level programs with specific expertise in protection, risk mitigation, and intelligence analysis.
Mr. Gutierrez is currently the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Secret Service Charlotte Field Office.
Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Gutierrez served as an Inspector within the Secret Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility and was the supervisory special agent managing the protective detail for the National Security Advisor. Additionally, Mr. Gutierrez led a team of special agents and policy analysts in conducting programmatic oversight of all Secret Service protective operations. He directed the implementation of numerous technical initiatives enhancing the security of the White House Complex, Naval Observatory, and other protected facilities. Mr. Gutierrez also served as the Secret Service protective operations representative to the Department of Defense Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of North Texas and a Master's degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
