David Myroup is Executive Director of Enterprise Fraud Operations and Senior Vice President for First Citizens Bank. An accomplished leader with 24 years of experience in financial services, David has the responsibility of overseeing associates, across the US and abroad, for the delivery of the bank’s Fraud Risk Management Program which includes fraud strategy, investigations, non-card fraud operations and analytics. Over the course of his career, David has served in a variety of roles spanning portfolio management, underwriting, client onboarding, technology, and fraud operations.
David joined First Citizens Bank by way of merger with CIT Group Inc. in January 2022. Prior to the merger, he transformed CIT’s fraud operations by executing strategy inclusive of governance, KRI/KPI standards, model oversight, routine reviews of control effectiveness and customer friction to support growth initiatives for the consumer bank. He then expanded the model to commercial digital channels. David is now focused on similar initiatives to scale and optimize fraud operations post-merger while integrating the newly acquired Silicon Valley Bank.
Prior to his 16 years at CIT, David worked for GE Business Credit Services and Deutsche Financial Services. He attended Coastal Carolina University for his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and obtained his MBA from the University of North Florida.
