John de Freitas is a Director at ACA Aponix, the cybersecurity, privacy and risk division of ACA Group. In this role, he supports his clients to build and maintain best practice aligned cybersecurity programs and specialises in helping firms enhance their security posture whilst meeting complex and evolving regulatory expectations.
Before joining ACA, he was an Information Security Analyst at Winton Group, a leading global hedge fund, where he was responsible for information security risk management and vendor due diligence. At Winton John helped to establish their formal Cyber Security Awareness Program built around face-to-face training, online advisory materials and an ethical phishing programme. Prior to Winton, John held several positions within BAE Systems Applied Intelligence mainly working as a Cyber Security Consultant delivering work into a number of large HMG clients providing security and risk advice in order to help safeguard business operations.
John earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Salford in Manchester.
