Brent A. Plummer is a North Carolina licensed attorney and Assistant General Counsel & Senior Vice President, Data & Privacy, at Bank of America. In this role, he provides enterprise-wide legal counsel on data and privacy matters, supporting all business lines and control functions. His responsibilities encompass legal and regulatory compliance, privacy program management, product counseling, data governance, legislative advocacy, AI governance, contracts, transactional work, incident response, third-party program, and government inquiries.

He has been practicing data and privacy law in the financial services industry for nearly a decade. Brent is among a select group of attorneys certified as a Privacy and Information Security Law Specialist by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. He also holds multiple certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), including Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States and Europe (CIPP/U.S. and CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), and Privacy Law Specialist (PLS).

Brent is a graduate of Indiana University and Wake Forest University School of Law. He lives with his wife, a high school biology teacher and jiu jitsu coach, in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they both practice and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and tend to their garden and flowers.
