Robin Merttens is a Cambridge graduate who started a career in the law and used it as a launching pad into top management at a top insurance brokers. Merttens changed career in 2000 at the end of the dot com era, co-founding RI3K, an digital trading platform for the global and reinsurance markets and was a leader in that business for 14 years.

Since 2015, Merttens has been heavily involved in InsurTech in London co-founding InsTech in 2015, and helping to build that into one of the worlds largest and most active insurance innovation communities. Merttens has an advisory practice of his own in which he both advises InsurTech startup and insurers on what InsurTech means for them and how they need to respond to it.

Having been involved in insurance for over 30 years and innovation of it for for nearly 20 years, he has an unusual mixture of experience, enthusiasm and vision.
