John Church was appointed Vice President of Information Systems of Rural Mutual in January of 2022. John has over twenty years of experience in the insurance industry with a background in technology, finance, accounting, acquisitions, and divestures. 

In 2024 John took on the additional responsibility of leading the Badger Mutual affiliation integration. Effective January 1, 2025, Rural Mutual entered into an affiliation agreement with Badger Mutal.

Prior to joining Rural, John spent 7 years at NeuGen/WEA Trust as the Vice President of Information Technology.    The role was responsible for the Application Development & Maintenance, Infrastructure, Security, Project Management Office, Procurement, and Facilities.  During John’s 7 years he was part of the team that acquired Health Tradition Insurance Company as well as served on the Software Advisory Board for HealthEdge Software Inc.    

Prior to NeuGen/WEA Trust worked for Allstate Insurance, Group Health Cooperative, QBE Insurance.   At all these organizations John held leadership positions contributing to the implementation of the corporate strategic plans.

John is a University of Wisconsin – Platteville graduate earning a BS in Finance and Marketing.  In 2005, he earned an MBA from University of Phoenix.
