Dr. Okan Acar is a seasoned banking executive with over two decades of experience in the financial sector. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Marmara University in 2000, followed by a Master’s degree in Management and Organization in 2006, and a Ph.D. in Finance in 2012, both from Istanbul University. His academic credentials are further complemented by certifications in Capital Markets and IFRS .
Dr. Acar commenced his professional journey at Pamukbank, later gaining international experience at Shamil Bank in Bahrain. In 2004, he joined Kuveyt Türk Participation Bank, where he has held various strategic roles, including Product Development Manager, Marketing Manager and Head of Digital Banking. As of January 2025, he serves as the Executive Vice President of Digital Banking and Payment Systems, leading the bank’s digital transformation initiatives.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Dr. Acar has contributed to academia by teaching undergraduate courses and authoring four books on finance, banking and artificial intelligence.
