Balakrishnan (Bala) Narasimhan is a senior domain leader with over 30 years of experience having spent his entire career in the banking domain. Bala’s banking background is a mix of business, technology and operations with extensive background in envisioning and implementing product strategy, delivery and large-scale transformations in the financial services industry for clients located across Asia, EMEA and the Americas.

Bala’s journey began in South Asia, working for some of the largest banks in the region wearing multiple hats, following which he changed paths to manage large scale banking transformations in South Asia, Middle East and Africa for a leading global core banking solution provider.

He subsequently moved to another global core banking solution provider where he spent ~14 years as a solutions consulting leader, initially focused on designing and implementing a complex core banking and payments solution for a large regional bank with operations in Singapore and Hong Kong. In 2008, he moved to the US to setup, manage and lead the Americas solution consulting practice, a role that he held until 2015.

After taking a detour into management consulting with one of the top US consulting firms as a Payments and Cash Management domain leader, he moved back to the products space in 2019, joining Intellect in his current role.

At Intellect, Bala is the head of solution consulting for the Americas, helping and guiding banking clients in the region across a variety of domains, which include Digital Banking, AI, Core Banking, Payments, Corporate Treasury, Liquidity Management, Virtual Accounts and Escrow Deposits. Bala has also authored a large number of blogs and whitepapers, and is a frequent speaker at various US banking / technology events.
